Last summer, I went to Milan with a friend who used to live there. We really wanted some sun, good food, and the dolce vita. And just like that, we were there.
We also took advantage of our Italian trip to visit Verona (magnificent) and go for a swim in a small seaside town, Finale Ligure, which I loved.
Here are the places we visited...

- Milan Cathedral (Duomo)
THE thing to see. Milan Cathedral is the third largest church in the world and the second largest Gothic cathedral. The best part? It's cool inside, which is nice during a heatwave!
- Aperitivo in the Navigli district
We ended the day with a drink and some snacks by the canals, watching people go by. Classic.
- The Novecento Museum (and the exhibition on Aldo Rossi - superb)

- The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
A magnificent gallery, but it has become a hotspot for influencers and other muggles who choose this place for their all-day photoshoots, so it's crowded.

- Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, needs to be booked... we couldn't go, but I slightly regret not planning it in advance.
- La Scala Theatre
One of Italy's most famous opera houses, which has seen many divas perform. We only visited it, but you can also attend a performance. I think it's worth it.

- Verona. (1h15 by train from Milan) I LOVED it! Much more than Milan, which remains a large, charm-less city. (This is just my opinion ^^) Verona is PRETTY and charming. You really feel like you're in Italy. What do you do in a day? You pass by the arena, Juliet's House, the colourful houses, and admire the view from Castel San Pietro. So beautiful.
For lunch? I recommend L'osteria al Carro Armato

- Finale Ligure (3h by train from Milan). I loved it too because, first of all, there's the sea. And with the heatwave, it's nice to swim. But mostly because it's charming and I love people-watching. Plus, we ate pasta al vongole - my favorite pasta ever! - in a very simple and inexpensive osteria! (I need to find that address for you)
